Description
 

Private 2 bedroomed villa in the foothills of the Sierra de Almijara, with its own swimming pool and two terraces.  Situated on a small urbanisation with uninterrupted views of the mountains and olive groves.

The villa is a 50 minute drive from Malaga airport, and 20 minutes from the coastal resort of Torre Del Mar.  Lake Viñuela is a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk.

American-style, open kitchen which is fully fitted with fridge, freezer, electric oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and iron.  Open-plan lounge and dining area, with patio doors leading on to a  patio area.  The lounge has a bed-settee which can be used for an additional person if required.

The main bedroom overlooks the patio and has mountain views.  It is equipped with a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle.  Bedroom 2 has twin beds.  Both rooms have built in wardrobes and ceiling fans.  There is an additional family bathroom with bath and shower attachment.  Outside is a laundry room with washing machine.

The patio area is tiled and balustraded.  It faces south but provides shade from the sun at certain times.  It has fantastic views of the mountains and the olive groves, which back onto the villa.  Steps lead from the patio to the solarium, a large tiled sun terrace on the roof of the building which provides total privacy.  The pool measures 8 x 4 metres and has a depth ranging between 1 and 2 metres.

Puente Don Manuel is a village that has a small range of both Spanish and British-owned shops which supply a reasonable range of produce, including some English foods.  There is also a good butcher, baker and a couple of restaurants within walking distance.  Within a range of 5 kms there are another 5 restaurants, some with fantastic views over the lake.

Lake Viñuela provides fantastic views and has a path around a large part of its shores.  There is a picnic area and a facility for canoeing.

The two closest - and somewhat larger - traditional villages to Puente Don Manuel are La Viñuela and Alcaucín.  Each have their own medical centre and pharmacy, bank, local supermarkets, and a smattering of restaurants and bars.  The entrance to the spectacular natural reserve park is just beyond Alcaucín.

Velez Malaga, the nearest town, is traditionally Spanish, but more facilities can be found at Torre Del Mar.  There is a hypermarket at the motorway junction (15 minute drive) which stocks all necessities.  Beaches can be found at Torre Del Mar and along the coast to  Nerja.  Excursions can be made to Granada, Sierra Nevada, Periana, Comares, Mijas, Rhonda, Marbella, and further afield, Gibraltar.

General Information

Bed linen and towels are provided, but please bring your own pool towels.

Rental periods normally run Sunday to Sunday in peak season, but this is flexible in quieter periods.

Please note we do not allow smoking inside the villa.

Price per week: 500 Euros - July to September (high season). 400 Euros - April to June (mid season), 300 Euros - October to March (low season). Discount of 10% for a 2 week booking.
